After one year within the Drivetrain sub team I have made a return to CVD with the intentions of designing an adjustable anti roll bar to improve the cars handling."

 james wright  Year: 3   Course: mechanical engineering  "Since joining the team in first year I have been a member of the Aerodynamics team. In the past year I designed the bodywork for SFR9 and for my third year in the team I will be designing our very first front wing (how exciting).  I have also been part of the Marketing team, and in my first year had a lot of fun producing the launch video for SFR8. Outside the team and my course you’ll either find me playing on a hockey pitch or stepping about in a grotty warehouse."

I was also lucky enough to drive in a test session and hope to get more seat time in the future. I am currently on an industrial placement at Williams F1 as a Junior Stress Engineer, with the aim of pursuing a career in Formula 1. I have enjoyed karting in the BUKC this season and also do a little Mauy Thai Boxing in my spare time."

Outside of Formula Student I have been racing karts since 10, and have a lot of fun competing in the University Karting championships!"

I compete in the Univeristy karting league, BUKC and hopefully that should aid my ambition of one day driving the Formula Student car for the team. I’m currently on placement at Mercedes AMG HPP tasked with supplying Williams, Force India and the raining world champions, Mercedes AMG with the most competitive Power Units in F1. Along side F1 I will also have encounters with the Project One Hyper car and some other interesting projects...⚡️"

This year I am currently on a year abroad at Queen's University Kingston, Canada; where I hope to assist the formula student team and further develop my engineering skills.

Outside of academic life I like to play netball and develop my language skills through travel. I am now proudly able to communicate in French, Spanish and Yorkshire."
